Poetry by Stephany Spencer- LeBaron: My Life’s a Wreck!
LIFE’S A SHIP WRECK! LIFE’S A SHIP WRECK
My life’s a shipwreck! Or should I conclude That ship has sailed Like two ships passing in the night Coming unglued?
I could say Life’s a train wreck. Or has that train Left the station too, Like two trains Passing a wreck or two?
I’ve lived a long time … A lifetime Longing for love, Acceptance, a Honey, Fun, friends, faith, To fit in, be thin, Have money.
To say Thoughts are things … They created my life, Sounds funny. I’m only sure old age and strife Have blown my plans to heck. And that ain’t funny, Honey! That’s a wreck!
My life’s been something of a wreck, Thanks to moronic Fundy fools Who raised me in “Heck”!
Distress and deprivation Have often been the worst! Wonder why I’ve been so cursed. Though lately my life has reversed ‘Cause I regularly rehearse Gratitude, compassion, and mirth!
Yet I’ve been well-versed, Rehearsed in tribulation. With lips partly pursed, I thirst for guidance, Rebirth, And to be rid of this cursed Wretchedness and dearth, Wherein too often I’m immersed So relentlessly ’tis terse!
But Hope Springs eternal. Tomorrow I’ll begin again, Expecting eventually to Triumph and win … Somewhere eternally, Out there in Eternity … Hopefully … But who knows when.
That is so good to know! It makes all my writing work worth it. I only wish I had more time, for I have not edited nor posted the majority of my best poetry, as I decided writing my memoirs should finally be put first. And now you verify that.
I think a lot of people would like to hear more about your fascinating life.
